Level 3 Pilates: UK National Standard
The UK Government backed national standard for Pilates was introduced in August 2005.
It was ratified by the Qualifications Curriculum Authority [QCA] &
is endorsed by SkillsActive.
The standard sits at Level 3 in the National Qualifications Framework. It is the first of its kind in the world & sets the minimum requirements in terms of skills & knowledge that a teacher should have to teach Pilates Matwork.
Body Control Pilates was the first specialist Pilates training provider to receive approval against this standard.
Before taking up Pilates, for your own safety & wellbeing, do check that your teacher is Level 3 Pilates certified.
Level 4 Standard: Lower Back Pain
In 2009 National Institute for Health & Clinical Excellence [NICE]
published medical guidelines recommending that people with
persistent non-specific low back pain should be encouraged to stay
physically active & exercise.
In April 2010 the Level 4 Advanced Exercise Instructor standard was
created.
Low Back Pain is one of several conditions covered under
the Level 4 standards & is endorsed by SkillsActive.
Body Control Pilates was the first specialist training provider to receive approval for its Level 4 Lower back Pain training course.
The Back4Good
programme is exclusive to Body Control Pilates. Qualified
practitioners are already experienced Body Control Pilates teachers
who have undertaken extensive training to become a Back4Good
Practitioner & a Level 4 Advanced Exercise Instructor.
